Maria's Family Books

We are launching the 'Maria's Family' books tomorrow morning smile emoticon These books were "developed as part of an ACIAR (Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research) - funded project on women's business acumen" here in PNG. Their "aim is to teach key agricultural messages to women smallholders, help mothers engage in reading activities with their children and develop literacy skills for both mothers and children".

There are 2 books:Maria's family goes to market / Femili bilong Maria go long market Maria's family saves their Kina / Femili bilong Maria sevim moni.Both books are bilingual in English and Tok Pisin and full of beautiful pictures. 

 

PROJECTS

Examining Women’s Business Acumen in PNG: Working with Women Smallholders in Horticulture

This project is aimed to examine the current status of business acumen for women in PNG and explore the effectiveness of training programmes to improve business knowledge and practices of vegetable producers.

 

Partnership in Agriculture Projects (PPAP) 

Due to finish 2016

 

This is a World Bank funded collaboration with NARI titled “Gazelle WYiACS Integrated Cocoa Development Project”.  This project is focusing on improving the livelihood of cocoa producers within the Gazelle province through training on cocoa best management production, integrated farming systems and income diversification.
